Assessment Summary
With my final 10 photos I have split them into 3 separately themed series (Passion, Play & Love) to cover 3 of my key aspects of being a teenager in retrospect to my own experiences. The use of Black and White was used to document these themes as a part of my teenage years that have come to an end and a mind set accompanied with ideologies of youth culture. With Passion I depicted an artist consumed by his artwork and working away towards something he loves. This is a good starting point for my series as it shows us how we at a young age begin to formulate our loves and passions for different hobbies that grow in maturity as we reach older ages. Next is the idea of play, whether it be mischief, playful or silly. Play represents how we all act at a young age when we become comfortable in our own bodies and create bonds with things and people through our own individual interests. Lastly is love, love as the thing that we strive for and desire. It can hurts us, it can fix us and it can rule us. However we CAN'T live without it, and it is here where we find motivation and a purpose and is why I feel is a perfect place to end on in my series of photographs.
